Sue's February 2018 Letter
February was a memorable month for B.R.A.I.N. Our Swing Fever Event was a smash hit! Was it a fundraiser? Yes. Was it an auction? Yes. Was it a Choir Performance? Yes. Was it a tasty dinner? Yes. Was it a time to dance with joy? Yes. Was it an engagement party? Yes. It was all of these things and more. We couldn’t have been more blessed than we were. Everyone had a wonderful time and I only have an appreciative heart for all of the hard work by so many that went into the success of Swing Fever. I especially want to thank The Grand for their outrageous service and hospitality. Without the help of Dan, Elizabeth and Beto, we would not have experienced such detailed beauty and fun. I also want to give a giant shout out to Mr. Ryan Choura who has been a close friend of mine for many years. He has consulted with me in the early days of the creation of B.R.A.I.N. His humor, generosity and strategic planning skills were all enjoyed by the audience as he helped me emcee the evening. Thanks, Ryan. Let’s do it again sometime soon.
I am cutting this article short this time. My very best friend, Charlotte went home to Heaven just 4 days ago. I’ve never had a friend like her. There will be no other in my future. I choose to remember the memories and learn to live by her example. The word that most describes who she was here on earth is OTHERS. No matter the situation, she thought of others first. Isn’t that what we all can hope to achieve? I want to live a life of service to others as that is the paradigm that the Lord has shown to me that gives satisfaction and peace.
Charlotte….we will always be together.
