Sue’s March 2014 Letter

March was full of activity at B.R.A.I.N. because of preparation for our annual Brain Symposium, Think Tank on April 5th. Our specific focus  this year on Sports Injuries brought many new faces to our office and meeting space. Athletic Trainers, Physical Therapists, Coaches, Parents and more have dropped by to learn about who we are and what we do. We are especially thankful that John Hansen, Athletic Trainer from Los Alamitos High School, has thrown his support our way and is networking to help the community become aware of B.R.A.I.N.’s importance. Another new person to B.R.A.I.N. is Brian Roberts, Director of Sports Medicine and Business Development at Seal Beach Physical Therapy. He has worked with NASA, the NFL, MLB umpires and many more sports professionals. Welcome to B.R.A.I.N., John and Brian!

I was honored to have my own dear husband, Dr. Jerry Rueb, who gave a talk which helped to clarify in our minds about Why Bad Things Happen to Good People. After 44 years of life together and partnering with him in family and career, I could think of no one more qualified to share than Jerry. He brought Nancy, Derek and Michael Lewis as a living demonstration of this topic. Their clear message of hope and positive faith in God inspired us all. Their 44 years together with Michael has given them a platform to give compassion and love to so many. Thank you, Jerry, Nancy, Derek and Michael for sharing your life with us at FBI.

Thank you for supporting B.R.A.I.N. and its efforts. Volunteers, Survivors, Caregivers, Family Members and Medical Personnel all make this organization move forward together.

See you at Think Tank 2014 on April 5th! This will be an amazing event you will not want to miss!

With you,

Sue
