A Message from Our Founder

Dear Friends,

Thanksgiving is a time to thank God for all of His blessings.  I am especially grateful this year for a huge group of volunteers who work tirelessly on behalf of our survivors each week. Thank you for caring and for following through on your commitment to encourage those involved at B.R.A.I.N.

I am also very grateful for some new leaders at B.R.A.I.N.  Scott Fleming, director of Merit/Andrew Production Company in Irvine, has come onto the Marketing Team to add to its already competent membership. He joins Ricardo Valenzuela, our print media designer, Corey Liebig, our web master and Cassidy Summers, our social media director. Tim Butte now leads this new team.  Tim is the director of business development at Comnet Marketing, a full service marketing business that takes him up and down the West Coast.

Debbie Edwards has stepped forward to take the leadership position of our Fundraising Team.  Her strong and passionate spirit comes out of her personal experience rehabilitating two of her own family members who are survivors of a brain injury.  Debbie sits on several committees in the community to help fund raise for various organizations.  Her team consists of Tim Jensen, former payroll business owner, Joe Mendoza, B.R.A.I.N. board member and South County Community Services Deputy for Los Angeles Parks and Recreation Department, and Thom Knight, quilting business owner who is well experienced in fundraising for Long Beach Memorial Hospital who also leads our Transportation Contact Team. Each of our volunteers are giving their time, apart from their day jobs to help those at B.R.A.I.N. who are living with brain injury.

Thank you each and every one of you who are involved in some way at B.R.A.I.N. Whether you are a survivor, a family member, a volunteer, a donor, a student or an enthusiastic observer, we are grateful for YOU!

Warmest Regards,

Sue Rueb

B.R.A.I.N. Founder/President
